Can You Power Wash Outdoor Umbrella?

Can I power wash my outdoor umbrella? I’ve been having a blast this summer with some burgers and beers on the patio, and wanted to upgrade to a nice shade umbrella to be fully decked out. But I thought that was a silly thing to spend money on when I already had 3 regular umbrellas at home.

Can you power wash patio umbrella?

Harsh cleaners can destroy the finish of your umbrella. If the umbrella fabric is dirty, gently brush it with a soft-bristled brush to remove any dirt. Then rinse the fabric under warm water and allow it to air dry completely before using it again.

The frame of the umbrella can be cleaned with either a damp rag or a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh cleaning products that could damage your umbrella, especially if you have an aluminum frame. Rinse the frame thoroughly after washing and allow it to dry in the sun.

If mold has built up on the frame, scrub it with a mixture of equal parts bleach and water. Soak a rag in the solution and wipe down the frame of the umbrella until all traces of mold are gone. Allow your umbrella to dry completely before using it again so no moisture remains inside.
